Faure: Requiem, Cantique de Jean Racine Part of the Brandenburg Spring Choral Festival 2015
Friday, 09 January 2015, 19:00 - 20:30
St Martin in the Fields, Trafalgar Square, London WC2N 4JJ
Wimbledon Choral Society is delighted to be invited back for the fourth year running to participate in the now well-established Brandenburg Spring Choral Festival in the wonderful setting on St Martin in the Fields.
This year we are very happy to showcase our own Michael Higgins' arrangement for choir, organ and string quintet of Faure's timeless Requiem. A recording of this, conducted by Neil Ferris, is available on Convivium Records if you want a taster before hearing the real thing.
The programme will also include Faure's Cantique de Jean Racine and Tantum Ergo Op.65 as well as items played by the quintet, made up of players from the Brandenburg Sinfonia.
Please note the start time of 1900 - not 1930.
