Over the years, WCS has established itself as a highly respected non-professional choir, performing to very high standards, whether that be for its own promoted concerts or where it has been invited to participate in other events or joint promotions. During this period many members have also developed and established personal links and associations with a good number of other choral-related organisations and the choir's membership (either as a whole or for other individual members) has benefited from these relationships, and continues to do so.
 If you're content simply to come on a Monday night for rehearsal and to take part in the resulting concert then that's absolutely fine but there is so much more out there to tickle and enhance your enjoyment of choral music, many opportunities of which enable you to sing in groups of smaller numbers, more akin to a chamber choir, for example. There are also those occasions where WCS members are invited to participate in either Come & Sing events or even a full concert organised by other choirs. There was, for example, an invitation for WCS members to join Barts Choir in a performance of Walton's fabulous Belshazzar's Feast in the Royal Festival Hall in May 2018. Many of you will have recalled the tremendous sing we had of that work in Guildford Cathedral a few years back so Barts Choir was giving you the opportunity to sing it again with them.
  If you wish to mix singing with a little bit of a break or, better still, some sun then there are many companies and people out there that organise singing-based breaks and holidays that are great ways of exploring other or familiar choral works with a whole bunch of new people in wonderful venues and environments. There is something for everyone. Many of you will know that Neil & Michael took over the music direction roles of the annual summer choral course organised by Helicon Arts, for example. Several WCS members have also been on one of the many courses organised by the group RunbySingers and these, also, come highly recommended. If you don't fancy a trip abroad, then there are other courses that are UK-based.
 A lot of these items are listed on the Other Opportunities page in the Members section of this website. Click on the Members tab at the top of this page and then select Other Opportunities from the drop-down list. This page is updated on a regular basis when items or invitations are sent to us. We can't display everything that we receive (and we receive a lot!) but the ones shown are those we believe may be of particular interest. In the case of Come & Sing events, for example, we'll display those that are within a reasonable distance from London for ease of access.
Further down the page, there is a section for listing other concerts in which you may be interested, again the majority of which will be in the local or London area.
