Fairfield Halls

Park Lane, Croydon CR9 1DG

The main concert hall in Croydon's Fairfield Halls used to be the choir's principal performance venue for many years, the previous last concert there being in 2007.   After a major internal revamp and facelift in the late 2010s, the Halls reopened in 2019 as part of Croydon's new Cultural and Education Quarter.

The Halls opened originally in 1962 and were built on the site of Croydon's historic "Fair Field", which hosted a well-known fair up until around 1860, and above disused railway cuttings which used to link the main London to Brighton railway to Croydon Central Station in what is now Queen's Gardens.

The centre now houses a playhouse, concert hall (Phoenix Concert Hall), studio spaces, rehearsal rooms, restaurants, bars and business lounge, offering a wide range of performances and facilities including classical performances, concerts, comedy, drama, community shows, conferences, weddings and events.

How to get to the venue

East Croydon rail station is a 10 minute walk away.   It is on the main London-Brighton line and served by a frequent service from London Victoria (Southern Rail) and London Bridge (Southern and Thameslink).   West Croydon rail station is also nearby.   The Croydon TramLink is also only a few minutes away with stops at George Street, Wellesley Road and East Croydon station being the nearest.   There are frequent tram services to/from Wimbledon station.
