 Urgent Request for Volunteers
One team required to cover APRIL please.
St Mark's Church is the choir's principal 'home' for rehearsals on the Monday evening. We are very fortunate to have access to a venue that is large enough to hold us and very conveniently located centrally very close to parking and transport links.
Most of you just roll up on a Monday evening and everything is ready and waiting for you. There is a very small team of members who ensure that the church is open for you, and that all the equipment like music stand, microphones, podium and piano are ready in their required positions. However, some members of this team have since left the choir over the past few years, and only a handful remain.
These few people have been doing it for at least a decade but really do need to have others willing to share in doing this task and so there is an urgent request for volunteers to expand the team so that a shared rota can be implemented.
It simply needs you to be at the church from around 7pm to open up. Please help.

Colleen has put this together as a kind of job spec:
"It is a matter of unlocking doors, switching on lights, moving the piano into place and putting together the podium – this can be “interesting” but an expert is on hand! To make it easier to move the piano/remove its cover it would be good for volunteers to work in teams of 2. Your team opts for 1 month between December and May which suits you. At the end of the prior month you get keys from that month’s team. At month end you hand keys to the next team on the rota (circulated as close to the start of the singing year as possible) which shows who is involved each month with email contact details. September is past, October is in hand, and there is, fortunately, a volunteer team for November. This leaves December – May to choose from. The task is not overly onerous and help is much appreciated."
