St Martin in the Fields
Trafalgar Square, London WC2N 4JJ

St Martin-in-the-Fields is located at the north-east corner of Trafalgar Square in London and its prominent position makes it one of the most famous churches in the city. Dedicated to Saint Martin of Tours, there has been a church on the site since the medieval period - the present building being constructed in a Neoclassical design by James Gibbs in 1722-1724. An extensive renewal project throughout the whole building above and below ground was completed in 2008, and the church welcomes a significant number of people who both visit the building and attend the many concerts that take place in it.
